82302 - WIFI - Accessing notes/audio when offline

Do I need to be online to view my pencasts?

The Livescribe Player requires an Internet connection to playback your synchronized notes and audio as a pencast.

Since Evernote Desktop provides an offline mode with a local copy of your content, notes and sessions that have already been downloaded / synced to Evernote Desktop while online can later be accessed from that computer when it is offline.  The note images are stored as PNG files under the notebook folder and the M4A audio files are stored in the "Livescribe Recordings" folder.  This offline feature is also available for iOS and Android devices with an upgrade to Evernote Premium.

Viewing Notes:

  1. Click on the notebook that contains the note.
  2. Click on the thumbnail of the note in the center pane to view the expanded note in the right view pane.

Listening to Audio:

Mac Users

  1. Click on the "Recordings" folder.
  2. From the center pane, double-click on the audio icon for the session you want to play.
  3. Click on the play button to play the M4A file using your default media player.

Windows Users

For Windows Evernote you must save the session as an M4A file before you can play it.  To do so:

  1. Click on the "Recordings" folder.
  2. From the center pane, right-click on the audio icon for the session you want to play.
  3. Select "Save Attachments…"
  4. Select a location to save the file and then save the session (you must select a location other than "Computer" to get the "OK" save button to activate).
  5. Navigate to the saved location and double-click the M4A file to play it using your default media player.
