85134 - WIFI/ECHO/PULSE - When trying to run Livescribe software a message appears: “‘App name’ can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer”.
Why do I get this message "'App name' can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer" every time I try to run my new Livescribe software?
If you are getting the message that the Livescribe software "…can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer", this is a new Mac security feature found in OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and later. To get the Livescribe software to run do the following:
- In Finder, "contro1"-click or right-click the icon of the Livescribe app.
- Select Open from the top of the contextual menu that appears.
- Click Open in the dialog box. If prompted, enter an administrator name and password.
After doing this you will no longer see the message above when running the Livescribe software. For more information see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5290.
