WIFI/ECHO - New smartpen will not turn on

My new smartpen will not turn on.

If this is a new smartpen and you are unable to turn it on by pressing the power button, your smartpen may need to be charged for a short while before using it.

To charge your smartpen:

  1. Download and install the Livescribe Helper app (wifi smartpens) from http://www.livescribe.com/en-us/support/wifi-smartpen/howto/ (lower right corner) or Livescribe Desktop software (Echo smartpens) from www.livescribe.com/install.
  2. Remove the USB charging cable from the box and dock your smartpen to the charging cable.  The smartpen OLED should turn on within a few moments.  If for some reason it does not, wait a few minutes for the smartpen to charge and the smartpen OLED display will light up and the shapes of a battery and a lightning bolt will appear.  This indicates the battery is charging.  If your smartpen does not show anything on the OLED display after docking it for 15 minutes or more please reference 26001 - My smartpen does not charge when I dock it to the charging cable.
  3. Charge the smartpen for 10-15 minutes before removing it from the charging cable in order to go through the "Basics" (wifi) / "Getting Started Guide" (Echo).

For a full battery charge, leave the smartpen docked for 2.5 hours.
