Symphony - Recording Audio

Question

Can I record audio using an Symphony smartpen?

Answer

The Symphony smartpen does not have a built-in microphone, but users have the option to record audio along with their notes by using their paired smartphone or tablet’s microphone within the Livescribe+ mobile app.

The Livescribe+ app records the audio sessions using the built-in mic on your compatible mobile iOS 7 (or later) or Android 4.4.2 (or later) devices (83002 - LIVESCRIBE+ - System requirements of Livescribe 3 smartpen and Livescribe+). These pencasts sessions are stored on the iOS/Android device and are accessible through the Livescribe+ app.

For details on how phone calls and auto-screen locks can affect recordings, please see 83260 - LIVESCRIBE+ - Phone calls and recording with Livescribe+.
