Managing Symphony smartpen sound and LED status indicators

Currently turning the LED off on the Symphony smartpen is not an option as keeping the users informed about their smartpen status is essential to ensure that they do not miss out on anything important.

However, it is possible to turn OFF sound notifications on your Symphony smartpen.

How do I turn the sound off for my Symphony smartpen?

To turn the Symphony smartpen sound off:

  1. Open Livescribe+ App on your mobile device.
  2. Connect your Symphony smartpen to your device by writing with your Symphony smartpen on Livescribe dot pattern printed paper (pair first if it is a new device).
    1. Mobile: Pen icon is located at the upper right-hand corner in mobile AppOnce the pen is connected, Tap on the 'Pen Icon' and press 'More details' to open the Pen Settings screen.
  3. Under the Notifications section, turn Pen Sound “OFF”.

This will prevent the smartpen from making sounds, but will also prevent any notification sounds such as the low battery indicator or error alert.

Smartpen is blinking red when connected to a charger?

Leave the smartpen plugged into the charger for the battery to be powered up. Do not remove the smartpen from the charger and leave it connected for a minimum of 20-40 mins. Once the battery gets charged, it should power up the smartpen and the smartpen LED will be pulsing green indicating that it is being charged.

Smartpen enters this pre-charging mode when the battery is completely drained and is left without being charged for some time. It is recommended that users charge their smartpens regularly after every use in order to avoid this situation.
