WIFI/ECHO/PULSE - Unable to get smartpen to react to notebook controls

I am unable to set the time and date on my smartpen or get the smartpen to react to any of the other notebook controls.

If the smartpen does not respond to the buttons at all on the notebook, please access 28007 - Testing the smartpen optics / force sensing resistor (FSR).
