What do the different colors of the Livescribe 3 smartpen LED light mean?

Below is a list of the most common LED colors you will see on your Livescribe 3 smartpen:

• Solid Green:  Paired with a device and recording penstrokes, but the device is not on, not in range (about 10 feet away), or the Livescribe+ app is not running.  Start the Livescribe+ app to reconnect.  If the Livescribe+ app is running, the pen is moved out of range (LED turns solid green), and the pen is moved back into range the LED will remain solid green until the Livescribe+ app is restarted or the smartpen is powered off/on (although this will take several seconds).  Then the LED will turn blue again and the smartpen can transfer data to the app.  If needed, tap the Device Pairing "button" at the bottom of the first page in the Livescribe 3 Starter Notebook to initiate the Bluetooth connection.  
• Blinking Green: Powered on, waiting for a Bluetooth connection.
• Solid Blue: Powered on, Bluetooth connected to mobile device. 
• Blink Yellow 3 Times: Approximately 15% of battery life remaining. 
• Solid Red: Audio recording in process on mobile device.
• Blinking Yellow: Firmware update in process.
