LIVESCRIBE 3/ECHO/PULSE - Troubleshooting Livescribe Player

Troubleshooting Livescribe Player

Livescribe Player is a web based player so you will need an internet connection to view your notes/pencasts.

If you are having an issue viewing your notes or playing audio using Livescribe Player, please make sure your browser is compatible with Livescribe Player by accessing 82301 - Browsers supported by Livescribe Player.

If you have exported or received a Livescribe PDF and want to play it in Livescribe Player from your PC or Mac, the file must be saved to your computer before you can drag it into the Livescribe Player window.  You cannot drag it directly from email or Drop Box (for example) into the browser window that opens when you click this http://www.livescribe.com/player link found in the PDF.

WARNING:  If you Open a Livescribe PDF file in Adobe Reader and then Save it (to rename the file or to change its saved location on your PC or Mac), the file will no longer play in Livescribe Player and you will get a message:

"This player can only load PDFs created by Livescribe.  Please select a Livescribe PDF."

To avoid this, do the following steps:

  1. Export the file from Livescribe+ or Echo Desktop.  For Livescribe+ exports, download/move the file to your PC or Mac from Mail, Dropbox, Evernote, OneNote, etc.
  2. Rename the file OR move it to the desired location on your computer.
  3. Open it in Adobe Reader.
  4. Click on the www.livescribe.com/player link in the PDF to launch a non-Firefox browser (if Firefox is your default browser, copy the www.livescribe.com/player URL into the address bar of the latest version of a Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Safari browser).

Once the Livescribe Player window is open, you can drag the Livescribe PDF into the browser window and it will open/play without an issue.
