WIFI/ECHO/PULSE - “Please update your smartpen's software to use this dot paper”

When I tap on dot paper my smartpen OLED displays "Please update your smartpen's software to use this dot paper". 

If you are trying to use your smartpen and your smartpen OLED displays "Please update your smartpen's software to use this dot paper":

• If you have a Livescribe WIFI smartpen, please update your smartpen using the Livescribe Helper app found in 20650 - WIFI - Livescribe Helper application downloads.
• If you have an ECHO/PULSE smartpen and are tapping on any of the buttons in the Getting Started Guide, in your notebook, or on Sound Stickers then the latest smartpen firmware is not installed.  Please see 80800 - How do I update my smartpen firmware using Livescribe Desktop?

Note: In the event that you continue to receive this message, it is likely that the control that you are using it is not compatible with your smartpen.
