88150 - LIVESCRIBE+ - Dates incorrect for transferred pages/exported snippets

Why are the dates wrong for the note pages I transferred to/from Livescribe+?

If the notes you transferred to Livescribe+ show an incorrect date in the pencast name or a feed snippet (e.g. 2019), this will be resolved once you update to a firmware version that is v4.6 or greater, completely erase the smartpen, and update the firmware once more.

WARNING: This process will permanently delete all of the notes from your smartpen. Please sync the notes on your smartpen with Livescribe+ first before following the steps below.

After the pen reset, notes that you take when the Livescribe+ app is not running are not going to transfer to the app.  Only notes taken while the pen is connected with Livescribe+ will transfer.  We are working on a fix that, once released, will sync all of your pen offline and online notes with the app.

While uninstalling/reinstalling Livescribe+ will cause new notes to sync with the correct date, you will lose any pencasts or notes taken prior to resetting the pen so we do not recommend this.  If you absolutely must correct the date / sync issue without waiting for a fix, please be sure to export all of the notes and pencasts you have as Livescribe PDFs before uninstalling the app by accessing:

84400 - LIVESCRIBE+ - iOS - Sharing (exporting) notes and audio

or

85350 - LIVESCRIBE+ - Android - Sharing (exporting) notes and audio

If the Livescribe PDFs are pencasts, you can import them back into Livescribe+ after uninstalling/reinstalling but they will not be searchable.  Standard notes (just handwriting, not audio recordings) will not import back into Livescribe+.  A work around is to start a recording and tap on each page you want to export (to keep the file size manageable, try not to tap too many pages - maybe 20 at a time) and then stop the recording.  Open one of the pages from Pencast view and share/export it.  All of the pages tapped on will export in one PDF that can be imported back in later - 83350 - LIVESCRIBE+ - Importing notes and audio saved as Livescribe PDFs

To correct the date/time issue:

  1. Install Livescribe Helper on your PC or Mac (not on a tablet) by clicking on
Download Livescribe Helper for Windows or Download Livescribe Helper for Mac.
  2. Connect your Livescribe 3 smartpen to your computer using the USB charging cable.
  3. Click the Livescribe Helper "Install" button to update to the latest firmware.
  4. Once the update completes, hold down the Ctrl key (Windows) or the Option key (Mac) and from the File menu (Windows) or the Livescribe Helper menu (Mac), select Customer Support and then Master reset smartpen. After the reset completes, click the "Install" button to install the firmware once more.
  5. Disconnect the pen but DO NOT TAKE ANY NOTES WITH THE PEN YET!
  6. Start Livescribe+.
  7. Tap the "Device Pairing" button on the inside cover of your Livescribe 3 notebook.
  8. Accept the prompt to pair.  This will set the time on the pen to match the time of your device.

Now you can take notes with your pen again.

For pencasts that already have the wrong date and time in Livescribe+, if you tap and hold on the pencast an option to rename will appear and allow you to change the date and time of the pencast.

If you plan on clearing ALL of the data from Livescribe+ so that your notes offline and online will transfer, uninstall and reinstall Livescribe+ at this point and you should have no further issues.
