83002 - LIVESCRIBE+ - Compatible devices and system requirements

What are the requirements for using my Livescribe 3 smartpen with Livescribe+?

The Aegir/Livescribe 3 smartpens requires a Bluetooth® LE (Low Energy) 4.0 (or later) Smart Ready mobile device running iOS 9 (or later) or Android KitKat 4.4.2 (or later) in order to transfer data which includes the following:

• iPhone 4S (or newer)
• iPad 3rd generation (or newer), iPad Air (all), iPad Mini (all) 
• iPod touch 5th generation (or newer)
• Android 5 (or later)

To check the compatibility of your iOS iPhone or iPad device:

1. Tap the "Settings" icon on your device.
2. Tap "General".
3. Tap "About".
4. Scroll down to "Model".

To check the compatibility of your Android device simply install Livescribe+ which will prompt you to install Livescribe Link.  Run Livescribe Link and the app will notify you if your device is compatible or not.

The Livescribe+ app can run on any iOS 9  (or later) or Android 5 (or later) device.  Even if your smartpen may not be able to transfer data to the app because the model is not supported (the pen LED is blinking green but there is no Pair prompt from the app), you can still use the app to import and play Livescribe PDFs.
